Spotify the new rival for iTunes, has launched its music service, allowing users to legally listen and downspotify-image unlimited amounts of music for free.  This has been made possible by Spotify embedding adverts to this free service, which pays for the Artists royalties.  Spotify have given you another option of paying £9.99 per month and joining its premium streaming service, where you would not be subjected to any adverts while listening to your music of choice.  To ensure they have a tried and tested platform, Spotify have signed a deal with the online music provider 7digital , like Last FM and Imeem sites, this deal will allow members to construct and listen to their own library of songs and share them with other users.  With label support from CD Baby , Merlin, EMI , Sony BMG , Warner and Universal; Spotify has an impressive catalogue of six million tracks, which is still growing.  Mark Mulligan, the analyst at Forrester Research has found that there has not been much of an up take for the £9.99 subscription, but the free service has proven to be more successful as the month of March showed they had tipped over its one millionth member.

If you come to Kent, ask anyone about "One Day Elliott" (ODE) , you would be advised to go and listen to their music and create your own opinion!  Once you've heard their music, you will be impelled to go and hear this Band perform live, this is where they are most comfortable and at their best.  In 2008 ODE toured up and down the UK and the USA, produced an album “Rule Number One” that sold over 10,000 CDs and continues to get great reviews from the local and national media.

This year, having seen ODE perform live and directing one of their music videos (“Never be content with average,” taken from their new Album “A Vital Something ”) you can only say these guys are destined for bigger and brighter things!  Their new album proves they are not your average Rock/Punk band; they are like a ticking time bomb waiting to explode onto the international stage.

We had the pleasure to catch up with Jonas at the Independent Music Show performing with anotherjonas-2r talented and very busy Artist Kevin Mark Trail.  At a young age Jonas was inspired by Stevie Wonder’s music.  Years later he formed a band called the Jones and on their second gig they were spotted by Stevie Wonders manager (Keith Harris) and Peter Smith who produced music for the likes of Randy Crawford and Sting.  Eventual they were signed to Sony BMG for a world wide deal; sadly the deal only lasted for one album, when the deal ended Jonas decided to become an Independent solo Artist.  Jonas now has his own record label and a distribution deal to sell his music, he has never been more satisfied being able to create his own pathway as an independent Artist and feels it’s the way forward for a vast majority of Artists, enjoying what you are doing and making a living from it..  Throughout his time he has toured around the world and  2008 saw no change, Jonas clock up some mileage touring over in the USA, Africa, Europe and the UK; Now in 2009 he continues in the same mode, touring with the likes of Omar and producing a new Album "Waitt" which will be released this summer, one of the tracks entitled “Two time love as one” (co-wrote with the late great Lynden David Hall - BBC News ) has everything you would expect from the man Jonas, giving you a rich Soulful sound that is ideal for the summer while lounging in you house, driving your car or kicking back with your headphones on and keeping it personal.  Jonas is a Soulful accomplished artist; bring to you a mix of Jazz, a twist of Soul, a drop of blues and blended with Nu-Jazz, producing a sound that has the Jonas stamp on it.
